Pierrot

A couple images of Pierrot, my incarnation of the character at least. The furry one is a felted image, all one piece. Turns out making felt is an amazing process. If you ever get the chance to attend a workshop, do what you can to make it there. You won't be disappointed. Unconventional media like that really open your eyes to the possibilities available to someone with a little creativity.

Batseries?

I did a painting of Joker a couple years ago, right after I heard about the passing of Heath Ledger, but before the release of the Dark Knight. I always thought I should have made prints and sold them. I never did. a few months later I did a companion piece of Batman. The Joker is dressed to the nines, and sports a beyond the grave gaze, as he stands there proudly displaying himself. He always was a bit of a nutter, but I like thinking of him as a comedian. Knowing that everything he does, he does for Batman's benefit. The painting is crackled, almost as though it's subtly shattered. It worked out pretty well. The masks in the background are laid out in an orderly fashion, and represent Harley Quinn. I wanted them to look a little more similar; maybe i'll go back into it one day and make some changes.
Batman is a bit older in this depiction. He holds his cape around him for the protection and warmth that the shadows might afford him. There's also the fear of his chaotic side, the bats which surround him.
I have been considering doing a few more pieces in this series. There are all sorts of characters who could make the cut but the ones I've been considering are: Two-Face, Riddler, Harley Quinn, and Catwoman. Depending on the scope of the project I might also include Bane, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, and the Penguin. Extreme alternates are Robin, Alfred, Commissioner Gordon, Killer Croc, Scarecrow, Batwoman, Clayface, etc etc etc. I could always just do sketches of all of them and see which ones work. Just something I'm pondering over.

Graphic Novel 1

I did the first chapter of a graphic novel last year, and it was tons of fun but by the end I wasn't sure what I wanted to do next. Currently the pages are sitting in my room not even being looked at, but I haven't forgotten about them. following are the first 5 pages, because I can't upload all 12 at once.

Graphic Novel 2

Second installment, pages 6-10 of my graphic novel. I'm posting these in reverse so they show up sequentially. You're welcome :P

It's a public bench

So, 2010.

haha, I don't know. It's been months and months since I've written anything here. I'm not even sure if anyone checks. If you do, I'm sorry for taking so long. Chances are I talk to you anyways.

I just watched 10 episodes of Scrubs because Josh loves the show and I get this little tingly feeling like I should know the inside jokes involved or I'll miss out on some buddy moments. I don't want to miss buddy moments. they're hilarious and just plain good fun. If nothing else, watching Scrubs has taught me that Josh and I are alot like J.D and Turk. I associate more with J.D., which means I usually think of Turk as Josh. And not just for the appearance because thats stupid. Turk has the upbeat attitude, seemingly unshakable faith, childlike sense of fun (which is so much fun to share), not to mention a keen appreciation for classic tunes. It goes without saying that he's a good friend. That's why Josh is Turk. That and the fact that Turk is the cool one who teaches J.D. how not to be socially inept....which is why I'm J.D. Some people are always going to need a bit more help being cool. Thanks buddy!

I expected to say a lot more than that, but I think it covers all the important points. Some days you just really appreciate the good friends you have. That's today.
